Description:
Artists First is a non-profit organization that strives to foster the social, intellectual, emotional and personal growth of artists with disabilities through creative self-expression. The agency offers art-based programs throughout the greater Saint Louis area serving aspiring artists of all ages whose lives are challenged by developmental disabilities, pervasive mental illness, and/or traumatic brain injury.

Lifeworks:
Lifeworks provides direct in person art facilitation at Artists First’s integrated multi-media art studio. Through this customizable individualized support program, participants are provided with intermediate-advanced technical art instruction, guidance and support to further independent living and self-sufficiency, advocacy, self-determination, communication, critical thinking skills and self-awareness; occupational support including the acquisition and development of employment skills. Participants can also choose to work one on one with staff developing and curating their own community art show as well as sell their artwork through Artists First.
